Wideblue upgrades ISO9001 and ISO13485 to new standards

Wideblue are pleased to announce that we have successfully transitioned our ISO standards to ISO9001:2015 and ISO13485:2016. LRQA carried out the transition audit at the end of June and we have received accreditation to the new standards. The scope of our accreditation was also extended to include the manufacture of medical devices.

Wideblue engineered Calcivis dental imaging system presented to parliamentary group

Bruce Vernon, Chief Technology Officer of Wideblue client Calcivis recently presented the Wideblue engineered Calcivis dental imaging system to a UK all parliamentary group for dental innovation. The session organized by the British Dental Association and held at Portcullis House, Westminster, London, was attended by members of parliament along with the UK Chief Dental Officer who learned how the Calcivis imaging system is set to revolutionise preventative dentistry. Wideblue video released – Backing the Game Changers

Wideblue and the Offshore Renewable Energy (ORE) Catapult have been working on a new camera and measurement system for wind turbine blades. The system has been successfully tested in a 40m blade and is currently being tested in a blade over 80m long. This ground breaking new technology which measures the deflection of the blade over time is featured in a new “Game Changers” video.

Wideblue client Impossible joins with Polaroid

Wideblue client Impossible joins with Polaroid as Impossible’s largest shareholder Wiacezlaw (Slava) Smolokowski acquires the iconic Polaroid brand. This latest Polaroid deal brings two related brands under one roof. In October 2008 The Impossible Project purchased the last remaining Polaroid factory in Enschede, Netherlands, for $3.1 million after Polaroid announced the end of its instant film production in February 2008. Since 2008, Impossible has successfully launched a number of new instant film lines, as well as its first camera, the Wideblue engineered I-1 instant camera.

Wideblue win double Platinum Product Design Award for Peek Retina

Wideblue are pleased to announce that they have won two platinum awards in the 2017 European Product Design Awards. The European Product Design Awards recognizes the efforts of talented designers and design teams who aim to improve our daily lives with practical and beautiful creations, designed to solve a problem, make life easier or simply spread joy. Wideblue have designed, prototyped and arranged manufacturing of a Mobile Phone Ophthalmoscope for Peek Vision. This medical device, the Peek Retina, has won Platinum awards in the “Designs for Society” and “Designs for Life Science” categories. Both Wideblue and their customer Peek Vision are delighted to receive this prestigious award.
